New website

I’ve been working hard lately to get my new website up. It’s built in Rapidweaver which is new to me but what a great application! Still has the flexibility of html and CSS but with the simplicity of most Mac applications. Fantastic for building sites for clients who want to manage their own content within a set framework.

Anyway, if you’re reading this then you’re already looking at my new site. I’ve tried to create something simple that doesn’t overstate what I do and looks good. I think I’ve achieved it, you be the judge. Still got some wrinkles to iron out which is always the way with your own website, it gets put at the bottom of the to-do list after paid work!

My main bugbear is the poor rendering of fonts in Internet Explorer (though Chrome doesn’t seem to be much better on a Windows PC). Helvetica is allegedly web safe but it always renders as Verdana in IE and Chrome. Shame.

Blogging

Well, my biggest project at the moment is getting this website up and running. It’s been a long time coming and my old website has been sitting there for absolutely ages with a ton of redundant content doing a very poor job at telling the world what, exactly, it is that I do all day. I’m also just making some enquiries about the viability of a trip to Australia and around New Zealand in the last couple of weeks of November. Morris Hargreaves McIntyre is about to kick start its Australasian operation.
